I had no idea the Sistine Chapel Immersive Art Experience would be so amazing! When I first reviewed the handout, I knew the history would be incredible, but I never expected how emotional the experience would be. Seeing the hands, feet, facial expressions, and even the creases in the fabric so up close was truly moving.

It brought back memories from my youth, when I spent countless hours trying to draw hands—and couldn’t even imagine attempting feet!

The 15-minute film was wonderful, providing a clear historical and artistic foundation that helped me know what to look for and better understand what I would see in the ART Room.

That room—wide and long like the Vatican itself—allowed the rich history to unfold so gracefully. On my second visit, I appreciated the artwork even more as I searched for specific details: Michelangelo’s self-portrait, the artist he portrayed with mule ears, the acorns, Jonah and the fish, and so much more. I especially loved seeing the nudity that had been crudely covered centuries ago when it was protested—an important reminder of both artistic intent and historical context.

This experience deepened my appreciation for Michelangelo’s genius and left me inspired in ways I never anticipated.
